Unwind on White Sand of Wrightsville Beach
Welcome to Wrightsville Beach, a local, cozy, family-oriented beach. Wrightsville is an island with 4.5 miles of beautiful, white sands located between the Intracostal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. The town is 15 minutes west of the entertainment of downtown Wilmington and its nightlife. Between the ocean, waterways, marshes and islands Wrightsville offers a variety of breath taking landscapes and endless activities.
Visitors can stay at either of the island's first-class resorts or rent a home for the week. Johnnie Mercer's offers a public fishing pier or charter boats are available through one of Wrightsville's marinas. At the town center is Wrightsville Beach's public park that offers soccer and baseball fields, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts throughout. Take a run, jog, or swift walk on the “Loop” – a 2.5 mile circuit encompassing the park that also takes you down Lumina Avenue and over the bridges. The park is enjoyed year round by locals and visitors alike. If you prefer to spend the afternoon on the water, Wrightsville's location is prime for kayaking, waterskiing, wakeboarding, surfing, and island exploration.
Because of its location, Wrightsville's fine restaurants boast beautiful settings and fresh seafood. Have lunch overlooking the bay or sitting out on the pier and listening to the sound of the ocean while enjoying a fine meal is a unique experience in itself. After dinner, stick around for a vibrant nightlife that only Wrightsville Beach can offer.
